Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.
Officers then discovered many other vandalized cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials report initial examinations suggest the substance was likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.
City officials announced they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for details.
An important representative said the attack left him without words and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
