I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
