A person who spiked sweets with tranquilliser and provided them to youngsters at a summer program in the area has pleaded guilty to sexual offenses against two children who were nine and ten years old.

The defendant was detained after eight minors and one adult became sick at the location in July.

The elderly man, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a total of 17 charges when he stood at the judicial center on recently.

Nevertheless, he refused to admit a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was against a nine-year-old child.

The defendant was kept in jail prior to a additional proceeding on November 28th.

'Candy game'

The legal representative, presenting evidence, described Ruben's offending to the court.

She explained his targets were children from difficult backgrounds who were staying at a summer program which he managed.

Ruben engaged in a "treat game" with the minors, the prosecutor stated, in which he would go into the children's bedrooms when they were getting ready for bed and tell them to ingest treats "as quickly as they can".

She informed the proceedings the defendant had conducted this practice with the children "for many years", and minors had previously become sick the following morning.

She said the defendant had been capable of justifying this repeatedly as the children being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had suspicions in July 2025.

The prosecutor stated further: "This year his stepchild had concerns about the situation, for good reason.

"They resolved" to have a look in the individual's items."

The legal counsel stated objects including infant oil, petroleum jelly and medical needles were discovered, and his family member notified the law enforcement about his suspicions.

She stated Ruben proceeded to play the "sweet game" with six children that night - July 26th - and they were all sick the following morning.

"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that stage," she continued.

The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, earlier informed that it was reviewing the police response of the events.

The legal representative stated the minors were unable to walk properly due to their sickness, so the stepson contacted the police a second time.

She stated the man then played the "candy game" in a space of five children.
